Bale force to be reckoned with

DIMITAR BERBATOV reckons Tottenham star Gareth Bale is "one of the best players in the world".
Former Spurs striker Berbatov says he has not been surprised by the Londoners' surge up the table.

Harry Redknapp's men face one of the biggest games in the club's history against AC Milan tomorrow.

They lead 1-0 after the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

And Manchester United ace Berbatov said: "Their position doesn't surprise me.

"When I was there I was aware of the young talent that is now their major asset.

"Players like Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale have matured and become great players.

"When I was there Bale was a talented teenager, now he's one of the best players in the world.

"I saw he had potential. He trained hard and was pushing to be involved.

"I'm glad they kept faith in him — other teams were interested in buying him — now they're reaping the rewards."

Meanwhile, Bale and Rafael van der Vaart look to be winning their battle to be fit for tomorrow's clash.

Both took part in Tottenham's training session this morning.

Younes Kaboul, who has been out since December with a knee injury, also trained and could be fit for a shock return.

Ledley King also took part but Jonathan Woodgate was absent and looks to be out of the White Hart Lane showdown.
