Tottenham may have thought that they had put the Luka Modric saga to
bed and that the Croatian play maker would settle down and see the
season out at White Hart Lane, however, those thoughts look like they
are about to be smashed to pieces with reports that both Man Utd and
Chelsea are preparing to make significant official bids for the 26 year
    old.

Both Chelsea and Man Utd are convinced that Modric still wants to
leave Tottenham and are confident that if the right offer is made that
    Tottenham will sell.

Their reasoning is based on the thinking that Spurs will want to
avoid a repeat of another unsettling period that saw the club endure a
    torrid start to the season.

Betfred are offering new customers a free bet up to £50Just when we thought it was safe. Impressions

Secondly, both clubs are aware that Tottenham will sell if the price is
right, despite Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy insisting that Modric is
not for sale at any price.

The fact that both clubs continue to leak to the press their interest
in Modric, albeit not via the UK press, not yet anyway, confirms that
the race to sign Modric is far from over.

Chelsea had thought to be almost certain to land Modric, but reports
from Modric’s home country of Croatia have indicated that Man Utd are
ready to match any offer that Chelsea put on the table. It really could
be interesting come January, not for Tottenham, but for the fans of both
    Chelsea and Man Utd.

This whole saga is starting to become similar to the Cesc Fabregas
saga at Arsenal, it may well be in Tottenham’s best interest to allow
Modric to leave in January once and for all, extracting as much money
for the diminutive midfielder as they can in the process.

Isn't it Ironic that a Betting Organisation is fronting this story and I'm sure it has nothing to do with them trying to stir up something out of nothing just to get people to bet .. next they will be telling us it might snow at christmas :P

Well its so obvious the modric saga will drag on ! it sells newspapers.
Improve his contract and finish in the top four and he hasnt any excuses to want to leave, i mean dont football players make friends at their clubs and feel a part of what is going on ? comradeship and all that or is it all to do with money?
But i have to say that no player is worth £40 mill in reality, even the mancs cashed in on ronaldo.
This will be ongoing and is totally boring, rattling old bones in a dusty forgotten cupboard !
Modric is a spurs player...........and will be playing for us in the cl next year... Very Happy

Excellent post Mr Plum, I agree with you entirely let the football do the talking. If we are in the top 4 by X'mas and even better ahead of Chelsea at that time it will be easier to hang on to Modric.

Like you I am confience that we will hang on to him and Bale for that matter
