Any guesses on the starting line-up? Here is one from me (apologies to Arnie if it reads wrong lol, left to right on the page for me)

    Friedell
    Ekotto Kaboul Dawson Walker
    Sandro Livermore
    Thudd
    Bale Lennon
    Defoe

This gives rapid full-backs. A solid centre of defence (I think AVB will ease Big V into things). A strong, mobile, pacy, good to chase down & break up play & able to pass the ball middle 3 and a fast, mobile forward line . . . .

always said modric better then bale.
bale plays for himself. another invisible game from him.

first half was good. strange subs from avb when we needed a goal. i would left stig on and took jake off.

brad 5. nothing specal. we new he wouldnt get near the pen

walker4. someone tell him hes main job is to defend.
    galas 7 good game
    kaboul 6 seem to tired
ekotto 8. solid game from him
jake 6 some silly early fouls to get himself booked. offerd nothing going forward
sandro 7 decent game but tired.
stig 8. unlucky to come of for vdv.
bale 4. tried to do to much
lennon 6. would f got more apart from hes finalball and given the pen away

defoe 6 chances 1 goal compared to ba 1 chance 1 goal
the guy is just too greedy .

vdv did okay when he came on. great through ball for lennon.
kane. come on to late to have much chance to make an inpresson.

good first half. newcastle came back second half and looked the stronger. strange sub from avb but i do like the guy and not many teams will win here

I thought we played well considering we are still getting used to the system. 2 silly defensive mistakes did for us but Defoe looked sharp and but for the woodwork we would have gone two up. Personally I am pleased with what I saw today and we can only get better. We will be a handful at home I think.

were lucky we got some winable games coming up next 4 matches. wba home, norwich home, reading away, qpr home, then hopefully we will have a good few points before we meet utd away.i would hope maximum points from those 4 if were going to get anywhere this season.if we have no new striker in, prob draw 2.

Because they were all fighting for Wengers signature because of all the recent success he has had in Europe, Prem and the way he is able to keep his best players happy.

Who would want AVB if you can have a manager that can give you all that.

Chelsea paid off AVBs contract, as well as all of his coaching staff when he was sacked Lought - as AVB was on a £5 million a year contract apparently the pot came to £12 million in his trouser pocket - no one can accuse Roman of being tight - there was no compensation payable.

Any idea of what he is at Spuds ?

My expectation is a figure way south of £5 million

As I explained to Lought above Mikey it is a matter of economics - at the maximum four clubs in the world could even afford Wenger and better his wage at the Emirates.

And unlike your Portugese jobseeker I am afraid there would be compensation payable

That may have been true 6 or 7 years ago Nic but on his current track record (Wenger) I can't see any of those clubs interested in a man with outdated ideas and bad choices in the transfer market.
