    Just seen the slow mo replay of the foul on Bale. The ref was in the absolute perfect position, saw it clearly, full contact on Bale and nowhere near the ball.

    Nailed on pen?

    He actually balanced it out by disallowing their second, it was Dawson who commited the foul.

    Kind of worrying though when the supposed 'best referee in England' makes 2 absolute stinkers when a near sighted 90 year old would have got them right.

    Problem with daws ion ! is that he isnt woodgate ! defends well, gets his body where it matters but woodgate is class, he will defend like daws but send a clearance out to one of our midfielders, daws will just hit and hope.

    True a lot of the time Lew, but I saw evidence that Harry has been working on this with him.

    Did you notice that he is now going diagonal rather than straight upfield? The ball of the match was a diagonal pass he hit to Bale in the first half. He absolutely pinged it right onto his toe and set up a chance that really should have been buried.

    Dawson can hit a ball acurately, so if Harry has refined this then he has added yet another attacking option to our already varied attack.

    Spot on Ion. Dawson's passes to Bale were superb yesterday. They weren't hit and hope they were measured passes, Hoddlesque in their beauty.

    must admit ive coated daws for his long ball..........to crouch, when he pings them to midgets he is spot on haha

    The occasional Dawson long ball has never been a problem , he's more accurate at it than most in the premeirship ....

    Not with you, Lew on Dawson being a hit and hope merchant ..True, occasionaly when we're put under pressure by the better teams and Leeds in the Cup lol, he can have a game where he does panic when its composure that's required...

    Dawson is an ok passer of the ball. Some of his diagonal passes are as good as the Thudd could conjuer . . . . . .
