Post by LOBO Mon Apr 04 2011, 20:54

I think a few here are missing the point, for a start its not about who
is the most loyal fan amongst us never says a bad word about spurs what
so ever, this is about buisness , harrys objective is to secure CL for a
second season, at the moment its looking as though its gonna be a close
call but not impossible , the question is what happens if we don't make
it, realistically we have to contemplate such an outcome which i think
will be a disarster considering we have had chances to cement 4th on
    numerous occassions

Football is a result driven industry if we fail to make 4th we gain to lose around 50million squid, so then the question is what
possition will this leave harry in , more to the fact what position
    will this leave levy in?

With arrys pending trial to take place in July at the old baily and is
said to last 8 weeks this means it will run into september, so how can
he do the preseason & run a club and get in new players when hes on
trial? please enlighten me if you have the answers cos i can see his
job becoming unteniable , nothing to do what hes done for us at all, its
about the here and now & the future, yes harry youve been a
blinding manager, not quite gone for us this season i know we can still
make CL its possible , but even if we do how can you go on trial &
    still be manager .

The other senario is we dont make CL we lose out on 50 mill in
qualifiying lose a couple of big names who may have had there heads turned, and tv deals and for a money man like levy it may be a
bridge to far and we might see a goldern hand shake on the cards come
end of the season, my money is on the latter

This imo is about buiness , i can't see how arry can continue if we
fail, if we do make theCL i can see arry walking anyway so he can put all
his time into this trial thus making himself a free agent and putting
himself in the frame for the next england manager

you may think im being negative just pointing out the worst case senario, but for the life of me i have seen the signs to suggest that arry is leaving in the summer, nothing to do with his ability as a manager at all cos as far as im concerned i think hes done a great job for us .

harry not botherd about 4th spot. he wants to do well in the champions league because it looks good on hes cv. its always been about harry.

yet all hes ever won is the fa cup aganst cardiff.

compare that to the specal one

I do see where Lobo is coming from in his post but surely the only way Levy will sack 'arry would be if he loses his court case and get's sent down ? Can't see it happening any other way but football is a results driven business and Levy is a business man. Would be up in arms should he do so but I do think Lobo is following a path here that may lead somewhere . . . . .

When has he ever had to build a team with no money?

The Porto team he inherited had a lot of very good players

Chelski- he had the money to buy every player going

Inter - again he inherited a very talented squad

Real - once more his inherited a squad of superstars.

Most managers would be the special one with the above.

Look guys this isnt about harry as a manager and his ability , this is thread is about a possible outcome , it may or may not happen , i could on the other hand list all the bad things harry has done as a manager but then again any fan could say the same thing about there club's manager , this thread is about is about what i believe will be an unteniable position due to circumstance surrending his pending court case plus taking the time out to fight the court battle and putting himself in the shop window for the england post which would go down well with a lot of people , so lets not argue about tacktic lets keep non football if you know what i mean

    amen praise the lord

Lobo, you're right we have to look at this for what it is ...

I hadnt realised the whole thing would last six weeks , where did you get that ?

If its true, the six weeks will run at a time where our pre-season training is on going , it will also hinder us in our transfer dealings...

Also according to this link :

    http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/73520.html?CMP=OTC-RSS

The chief executive of the club at the time, Peter Storrie who is implicated along with the then chairman Milan Mandric has his trial set for May ..
Perhaps the result of Storrie's court case will give us an idea what will happen to Harry ?

yea dj because theres loads of managers out there with the tag of specal one. only fergie is better.

harry had the best team ever at west ham and sent them down. he sent portsmouth and southampton down.

just because you have money to spend dont mean it wil bring success.

look how much steve bruce has spent

With regards to 'arrys case. This isn't informed judgement just me supposing. The figure of 6 weeks is probably a worse-case-scenario. Expect a bit of plea bargining & behind closed doors dealing. I'm going for a week's trial at the longest with 'arry being found guilty of a lesser charge and paying back with intrest any monies. Bottom line is that if found guilty he could go down and you can't run a football team from inside unless you're Escaping To Victory . . . . . . .
