Luis Suarez is back in the Liverpool squad after suspension for his first start since Boxing Day.

Captain Steven Gerrard is also included after being rested by Kenny Dalglish for the trip to Molineux last time out.

Louis Saha could make his Tottenham Hotspur debut as Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart are all injury doubts.

Aaron Lennon is struggling with a hamstring problem, while William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone are both out.

When these two met in mid-September, Tottenham extinguished Liverpool's early-season optimism by sauntering to a 4-0 win with a brutally dominant display at White Hart Lane, in a game that ended with the Reds reduced to nine men.

Coming on top of Liverpool's first league defeat of the season at Stoke the previous week, Spurs further exposed any hopes the visitors had of mounting a serious title challenge. At the same time, Harry Redknapp's side offered fresh evidence that they could be real contenders.

Those results, along with the return of Suarez from his nine-match suspension (he served his one-game ban for the after-match incident at Fulham immediately prior to his eight games out following the Patrice Evra episode), will naturally raise hopes among the Reds faithful once more. A Champions League place is their central aim.

But that optimism will again be tested by a Spurs side whose ambitions have blossomed into the firm reality that, while still outsiders for the title, they are the only genuine challengers beyond Manchester. Victory at Anfield would embolden Tottenham even further, while dragging Liverpool back towards square one again.
