    Interest Empty Interest

Post by cstmrsking Thu Aug 02 2012, 09:16

Why we in the slow season. I just wanted to see what the interest would be from you all inrelation to starting up a Betting group when the season kicks off.

I'm working on the theory of the Wisdom of Crowds, our collective footballing intuition.

The Idea would be that we democraticaly / argue Smile amongst ourselves (we should be good at that bit lol)to agree a majority as to what is considered the best bet of the day.

We could keep it simple with a Fiver and see how as a group we do by Xmas and again at the end of the season.

This could raise some lively debate.

What do you all think? Just interested to see if there is any interest.

    Cheers king

I'll have a go but my football bet limit is just £2. Always has been, always will be. Just my way when it comes to a flutter on the footie . . . . .

How do we work this guys. I sometimes stick a couple of Quid on a Spurs game or sometimes do the accumulator/pools type H/A/D coupon. Sometimes it's a pint bet with a mate on a certain game (that does exceed my usual wager limit lol), sometimes on just a set game or result. I use Joe Corals as a rule. Be intresting to see how we can work this one out . . . . .

I was thinking along the lines of,we all thrash out and agree (majority)a single game that we think will win. Now as many as or as few can join in the debate, but there is no obligation to place a bet. I tend to use betfair.

Now the first few weeks of a season is not enough to get the form going. About five matches in to see whats what. Betting on your own team for me is a no no as it is often done with the heart and not ones head. Also, backing t=one of the top 3/4 teams, produce low odds although they are usually "safeish
bets" Backing a home team that won the week b4 who are playing a team that lost their away game the week before is good strategy. the second part of the season things are different from the first half as the pack unfolds, teams come int o form some teams choke, some become desperate as relegation looms. We also have the first round of managers being sacked and team form improves,Jan window with new players coming in all changes the Game. So there is lots of ponderables to consider.
But with collective knowledge and a majority agreement based on some logic should produce a cople of quid for those who want place a couple of quid at their favourite bookies. We could then post our winnings or just doit for the sport of it to see if we was correct in theory.

best bet for me is both teams to score, won £77.80 today, now the seasons getting under way. £5 accumulator on 4 or 5 games. today 4 of the 5 matches both had scored and my last match i just needed forest green to score, i was lucky they got a penalty in the 90th min, sweating but back in buisness lol. good bet to try lads. think its called goal rush at ladbrokes and both teams to score? at billy hills. try it, its great watchin the results come in and lasts the whole 90 mins.

it is good fun especially if you got 9 of the 10 teams scored and all you need is one more team to score, also when you put it on in shop on one of the coupons, it tells you how much you will win if all correct. you dont even need to be to up on your knowledge of lower divisions, just pick matches. they not great prices individually thats why i do four or five in an accumulator for a fiver. soon adds up. ive lost plenty of times though just needing one more team to score, beware, its sickening, lol

It's great I've been doing it (goal rush)for a couple of seasons now. It's so popular that last season Ladbrokes slashed their prices 3 times.

Six selections started of at 33-1 and finished up 20-1.Still a good bet though. Don't know what they have it at this season as I have'nt looked.

ladbrokes if im online or billy hills if i go in betting shop, its better in the shops cos you go in and cllect hard cash lol. online its not the same its like sitting in your account if you win unless you transfer it into your bank. they normally get it back.

I like doing Half Time Full time. Had a good one this weekend with Tottenham and M city.

I Had QPR h/t Spurs f/t £5 @ 25-1 and City h/t draw f/t @ 16-1. I tend to do 4 bets with each one. Home draw home away and away draw away home. I laid out 40 quid and got back £215.

I do enjoy my football bets at the weekend.
