    defoe Empty defoe

Post by Guest Thu Aug 16 2012, 00:50

striker Jermain Defoe fears that he may have to quit White Hart Lane in search of first-team football as new boss Andre Villas-Boas assesses his striking options.

The England international admits that the campaign was “heartbreaking” due to his lack of opportunities, though he still managed 17 goals despite being restricted largely to appearances from the bench.

“Everyone knows how much I love Tottenham,” the former Portsmouth man told the Daily Mirror. “Everybody knows that they are the club I want to play for.

“But last season was heartbreaking for me in terms of putting my body on the line, being prepared to give everything for the club and not getting a game.”

Defoe spent most of last season on the sidelines despite putting himself through a gruelling training camp in France in the summer.

the guy is a plank. now we have no strikers he wants to leave. more like he wants more money at qpr.

the guy has never scored 20 goals in the prem and the season before last he only scored 4 goals and that was in 2 games. despite playing more then 20 games.

why leave now when we have no strikers he will get games now

Will he get more games though. if we play one up front he is not the man to do it, hasn't got the skill set. To be honest I can't for the life of me see why we bought him back.

Who knows - as a dynamic young coach might AVB be seriously bringing in the Spanish 1-4-6-0 formation ?
