Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Redknapp criticised in new Luka Modric book

Luka Modric has now made his move to Real Madrid, enabling everyone to move on. Fans of Tottenham can fondly remember his best form with them and conveniently forget about his struggle to leave and he can concentrate on his football at Real Madrid. The past is the past and Modric will only want to look back on the best parts of it, no use dragging up little things which don't really matter now.
A new book detailing Modric's career and authorised by the player may make moving on a bit of a problem. Daniel Levy and Tottenham are criticised regarding Modric's desire to leave last summer when Chelsea made two huge bids for him which were turned down. The book says that rather than refusing to play or claiming that his head wasn't right, as Harry Redknapp said at the time, Modric wanted to take part but wasn't allowed to.
The book also details how Redknapp changing his position, and making the Croatian play more deep, meant that Modric didn't have as much an effect on the game as he'd have liked to. At Real Madrid Modric is going to be played more as a play-maker and a lot of fans have voiced their concerns, having seen his stats include few goals or assists.
The book aims to plant the blame for that at Redknapp's door and is being serialised by AS in Spain who are happy to play along and say the play-maker role is more suiting for 'a very special player'.
It does read a bit like propaganda and they claim Modric was labelled 'The Croatian Cruyff' at Tottenham and whilst the media in his home country have used that term, it's not something familiar to Spurs followers.
He's being built up an awful lot and if he doesn't produce quickly for Real Madrid then fans who are already sceptical about the transfer will be quick to turn on him
