seasons 09/10. 10/11. Prem league think gives most effective look at players performance and 38 games as we all know.

    09/10

Pav 748 mins 5 goals 3 assists. 149 mins per goal
Crouch 2229 mins 8 goals 7 assists. 278 mins per goal
Defoe 2555 mins 18 goals 5 assists. 141 mins per goal

shows a bit of something there. defoe had 8 mins per goal more than pav. crouch 137 mins behind.

    10/11

Pav 1589 mins. 4 of which full 90 mins. 10 goals 4 assists. 8 goals in seperate games 2 in final game. 158 mins per goal
Crouch 1945 mins. 14 of which full 90 mins. 4 goals 9 assists. 2 goals in seperate games 2 in one other.486 mins per goal
Defoe 1479 mins. 8 of which full 90 mins. 4 goals 2 assists. 2 in seperate games 2 in one other.
    369 mins per goal.

pavs goals here shows he may have been a game changer as he scored in 9 games the other 2 only in 2 games. and in only 4 starts with crouch getting an almighty 14 starts. and clearly victorious in the minutes per goal.

ok tht was in repl to this post so i better put both sides across lol

Pav, crouch and defoe in numbers
    jermain defoe stats for spurs:

    08/09 10 games 4 goals (half season)
    09/10 43 games 24 goals
    10/11 30 games 9 goals

for spurs 83 games 37 goals works out 0.45 goals a game

    Pav:

    08/09 36 games 14 goals
    09/10 24 games 10 goals
    10/11 39 games 14 goals

for spurs 99 games 38 goals works out 0.38 goals a game

    Crouch:

    09/10 42 games 13 goals
    10/11 40 games 11 goals

for spurs 82 games 24 goals works out 0.29 goals a game

This clearly does show that crouch has the worse goalscoring record out of all 3 strikers i'm ignoring keane as he's as good as gone but it also shows that defoe has the best record for us and so for me does prove that he's the best goal scorer in the team.

I then thought i should look at the assists contribution from all players as that of course sets us up a goal and so is important to the team

    jermain defoe stats for spurs:

    08/09 10 games 4 assists (half season)
    09/10 43 games 0 assists
    10/11 30 games 2 assists

for spurs 83 games 6 assists works out 0.07 assists a game

    Pav:

    08/09 36 games 1 assist
    09/10 24 games 3 assists
    10/11 39 games 4 assists

for spurs 99 games 8 assists works out 0.08 assists a game

    Crouch:

    09/10 42 games 7 assists
    10/11 40 games 9 assists

for spurs 82 games 16 assists works out 0.2 assists a game

That was interesting reading....does make you think why Harry has such faith in Crouch. To me Pav is a much better footballer and if given the chance more i think he could score alot of goals.

My mate who is a Liverpool supporter thinks Pav is the best striker we have and doesnt understand why he doesnt start more games!!
