    Lifted from facebook.

When he first arrived VdV was a sensation and looked the world class
player Spurs had needed for a long time. Success in the Champions League
and a bagful of premiership goals put VdV firmly in the hearts of the
Lane faithful almost instantly. lm not about to slate him for what hes
done or question his ability but . . . Since we went out of the CL to
Real Madrid Arry has conitinued to use the 4 . 5 . 1 set up in the
premiership that VdV fits into at the expense of at least 12 games we
shouldve won. Even going back to the win at the Emirates against the
scum Arry started with one striker and a packed midfield. We were
outplayed in all areas and went in at half time 2 . 0 down and expecting
a thrashing, but he changed it half time to 4 . 4 . 2 and put the
balance back into the team. What a difference. We all know we won the
game but to put the result into perspective we beat Woolwich 3 - 0 in 45
minutes of football. Surely any manager would realise what had gone
wrong in the first half but NO. After that game a reporter asked Arry if
he thought he had got the team selection wrong to begin with. Arry's
reply "No, we werent getting enough of the ball and they were outplaying
us" . . . HELLO !!! Now im a big fan of Arrys and like what hes done
for the team a lot but this arrogant side to Arry is new to me. Since
    then he's continued to tinker with 4 . 5 . 1 and on a few occasions has
said "Thats the way we play". Well im sorry Arry but it seems the only
reason we play that way is so you can fit VdV in. Hes not the grafter
Modric is, he hasnt got the pace of Lennon and Bale and he seems to lose
all energy around the 60 minute mark. As good as he is you have to ask
yourself why Real Madrid sold him so cheap too. We have a great deal of
really good midfield players and at the moment the best 4 when full fit
would be Bale, Modric, Sandro and Lennon. They provide all the width,
pace, workrate and defensive cover we need. The strikers havent
contributed nearly enough goals to justify their reputations (51 goals
total for the squad so far) but having said that look how much actual
playing time theyve had this season. No striker is going to get into
form without consistent play and they certainly arent going to form a
deadly partnership with any of the other strikers if they never play
together. All of this adds up to the conclusion that VdV is a bit of a
luxury player. OK to bring on for the last 20 minutes when the games
already won, fine in europe where the game is slower and more open or as
cover if there are any injuries to the main 4.

    Had we stuck to 4
. 4 . 2 this season in the premiership (like we did the whole of last
season) l have no doubt we would have reclaimed 4th or even bettered it
and all of us wouldve had a far less frustrating season. Heres hoping
Arry learns from this season, or someone close to him tells him, that 4 .
5 . 1 cost us somewhere in the region of 20 points this year (56 points
so far compared to 70 last season) this year and next season we get
back to where we belong, and possibly even putting in a challenge for
    the title.

Judging by certain stories in the press today we
should also look at changing our scouts. Apparently they advised Arry
not to buy Suarez as he wouldnt make it in the premiership . . . DOH !!!

Everybody seem to have forgotten the goals vdv scored when he first came in fact he was the only one scoring.if he hadn't arrived then we would be in even a worse position than we are now.He may have gone off the boil a bit lately but so have the rest of the team and there are others who are playing a lot worse than he is. Lennon is a glaring example he plays like he just doesn't care and can't wait to get away. In my opinion he has got much to big for his boots and his form is nothing like it was last season.

VDV is still a regular for Holland and next season if he is still here....which I very much doubt...He will be an even better player for us.
We don't have a lot of class in the side contrary to what a lot think and we need him and others like him and it's up to the manager to use him in the best possible way. I know Fergurson, Wenger and Ancelloti would like to have him.

its not that vdv is a bad player. its that harry dont know how to use him. surley use him as a sub sumtimes makes sence.

442 is what we played last season.
451 is why the strikers aint scoring cos they aint geting loads of chances

That's just it though Lought, they have been getting loads of chances, they just haven't been able to hit a Cows a*se with a Banjo.

How many times have we commented that Crouch, when shooting, has legs like wet Spaghetti? If Drogba has a Howitzer in each peg then Crouch is carrying a couple of sling shots!

Then there's Defoe. The worse the dry patch got for him, the more he thought that power was the answer, at the expense of finesse.

Pav, admittedly, got messed around early doors but he's had an extended run and, guess what, he's no better than the rest.

    And finally Keane.

    'Nuff said.

We have created chance after chance and they have wasted chance after chance. Point the finger at VDV all you want, and I agree that he has been getting far too much playing time when he should have been benched, but he is not the cause of our struggles. P*ss poor strikers are.

Is it any wonder that players like Lennon and Bale get jaded? They graft, they create, then they are forced to watch the frontline make a Pigs ear of what they've created.

    Time and time again.

OK you may question their professionalism somewhat but even the most professional Footballer is going to ask himself 'What's the point, they'll just f*ck it up anyway' after a while. Everyone on here comments on how a poor goalkeeper makes a difference to the confidence of the defence, why should poor strikers have any less an effect?

Strikers burying chances changes the entire demeanour of a team, you only have to look at Liverpool to see the truth of that. Once we have them, and we start finishing the chances we create at an acceptable rate, then look at the performance level of the players as we'll be challenging.

Let's face it, that's all that prevented us from challenging for the title this season. When was the last time we were able to say that?

yea it must frustrate bale and lennon to see them puttin crosses in but our strikers dont even look like scoring.

but it dont help that when defoe for example scores then hes dropped.

pav and defoe scored in the 3 3 with wolves then are both dropped.
