Carrying on from another thread. If you could be transported back to a match in the past, which one would you pick. It has to be a game you saw. I have loads to pick from as I am sure many of you do. For me I think it would be The FA cup replay 1981. The atmosphere in Wembley that night was all generated by the thousands and thousands of Yids that vastly outnumbered the Man City fans because they didn't take the whole allocation of their tickets. An unbelievable atmosphere in a match that see sawed back and forth until THAT GOAL by Ricky Villa. I went mental when that went in, as we all instinctively knew we had won the cup. Great night, great team, great supporters, great days. cheers

Same match Baz, all the sweeter because my cnut of an Uncle dicked me out of my ballot ticket for the original Final. He never made it to the replay, me and the old man did. lol!

Another I'd add though was a European night the following season. The Cup Winners Cup draw against Barcelona. P*ssing down with rain, Clemence let one through his hands and when we equalised I must have lost about 10 quid in change from my pockets I was jumping around so much!

For me its got to be the FA Cup Semi-Final against the scum who we beat 3-1 ! I was there at Wembley, and seeing Gazza score that free kick against Seamen was the best feeling i've ever had! Got it on DVD too Wink

Mine would be Spurs 8 Gornik 1 Sept 1961 our first ever game at White Hart Lane in the European Cup. We'd lost in Poland 4-2 and everyone was saying we would't get through. How that changed in the first 20 mins don't think I'd ever seen a Spurs team play so brilliantly. We'd also been severely criticised in Poland for being thugs and it was reported in their press that they did not ever want to see Tottenham in Poland again. The atmosphere that night was unbelievble and before the game 3 absolute loons dressed as angels invaded the pitch and got the crowd going even more. They were to become part of European nights for all that campaign. Then the goals started going in and it just became louder and louder and the Polish players looked physically sick. Bill Nick said afterwards "My team tonight were as great as they were bad last week." took me two days before I got my voice back, great memories.
