    Ledley King Empty Ledley King

Oh dear if rumours are true. We are getting a bit light at centre-half . . . .

Spurs' King dreading new long-term lay-off

Ledley King is facing new doubts over his Tottenham future, after being hit by another injury.

The England defender has had a scan on the groin-muscle damage he suffered during the weekend win at Newcastle. He will get the results on Tuesday, before seeing a specialist.

King, 31, suffered a similar injury last season which kept him out for SIX MONTHS, so he is desperately hoping for better news on his latest blow.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has challenged King to prove he is worth a contract next season by playing at least 20 games and a long lay-off could seriously damage his chances.

King has only managed five games so far but admitted recently this season will be make-or-break for a career so cruelly ravaged by injury.

England international King said: “It is the first time I have been in a situation like this, where my contract is up at the end of the campaign, so it is a big season.”

Unfortunately it's obvious Ledders is a long term injury problem that isn't going to go away. As much as he is a great player (When Fit) unfortunately it seems he can't keep fit. To be honest my feeling is we should have cut our losses on him at the end of last season. The man can't train as he should, that means when he plays he is liable to tear something else sooner or later. It's not fair on him the club or the supporters who remember Ledley as he used to be. Kaboul is a great prospect but we need someone else just as capable alongside him and it seems Bassong is not it. Dawson maybe but it seems he has his own injury problems at the moment. We knew the problems King had ages ago and it should have been addressed but as usual we dragged our feet. We could have had Cahill but dragged our feet yet again because we wouldn't pay the money. Gallas would be the answer but surprise, surprise he is injured. Short sightedness seems to be a problem at Spurs. The supporters have been saying for ages we should cut our losses on Ledders. No one listens. The club need to act in January.

But that means re-shuffling the defence yet again Lobs. We never get any stability and if there is one polace you need stability in a team it's at the back.

If he's again out for six months then he wont get another contract next summer .....

Hoping Lobo is right and Ledders is back sooner than later...

Dawson , Gallas and Ledders all out, it's clear to me that our nerves are to be shredded to pieces the next few games. pale ..

But its also clear to me, that we just have to go out with a positive mindset and win with Kaboooom & Bass... Very Happy coys

You're probably right Lought but we all know King is not going to play much longer. We don't seem to have a replacement.
