if they want to break into first time then they got funny way of showing it. not one shot at goal

Cudicini 8 would get more if he could catch the ball
Fredericks8 one of the better players. played well at right back
    galas9 our best player
bassong. 3. awfull. he losses concentration sloppy passing and gave away the free kick
towsend. 5 hes no left back. and why shove that player down when he was catching up to him
Falque8 thought he played well even though he was out of postion. hes done more in 1 game then gio done in 4
caroll 7 always wanted the ball.
Pienaar3 only for work rate. the guy is poo and most pointless buy ever. he cant weigt a pass cant shoot cant tackle
livermoor. 6he got better when he went to center back , was one of hes poorer games in the center
pav.. 5. a few nice lay offs but also a few loose balls
    defoe3 invisible man

In the first half least Defoe beat a man did a good cross Lazy Pav didnt read it if it was other way bet u Defoe would of scored no service nearly all match

Cudicini 9 would of been 5 or 6 f not for him

Fredricks 7 better right back than right winger

Gallas 9 Superb ooozes class shame he got injured again

Baffoon 4 shockingly sh*t and lazy made carroll run for a ball what was easly his

    Townsend 5 no left back

Falque 6 takes too long on the ball no right foot but tries

Carroll 7 going to be good this kid worked his socks off

Livermore 6 passing was crap played better as lought said in defence

Pinaar 7 tried first match of season good work rate good squad player

Defoe 5 invisible tried but no service looked p*ssed off

Pav 4 who is he? was he playing should of read chance in first half

subs Parett 5 got stuck in Kane 6 tried did more in about 15 min than defoe and pav did in entire match

think your being very harsh on the lads tonight. that kazan team are no mugs as we saw at our place. lot of our team are still very inexperienced and dont forget are not involved week in week out. russia is a very hard place to go to for a match at this level and im sure they have taken some valuable experiences from this game. its not the end of our campaign and i honestly didnt expect us to go there and roll them over after seeing them at the lane. cut them some slack, harry thought they were good enough.

Agree Shear. They pinned us down and attacked. Good side, I seem to recall that from the home tie. No disgrace in losing 1-0 over there . . . . .

Apart from fighting his way to the bye line and putting it on a plate for Pav who, unfortunately, was having a nap at the time.

It's very easy to label someone the invisible man when you close your eyes every time he gets on the ball.

Defoe was lively and had a frustrating night as the service wasn't great. To be fair to Pav, he put in a reasonable shift and was unlucky not to get through on goal when he was body checked.

What am I saying, unlucky? That ref was such a homer it was ridiculous.

Tottenham are still 9-1 joint favourites for the Europa League despite suffering their first loss in the competition with a 1-0 defeat in Rubin Kazan, when Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan took charge of the team in the absence of the recuperating Harry Redknapp.

    BBC Sport

Spurs goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini made a series of superb saves A superb display by Tottenham keeper Carlo Cudicini could not stop Spurs slipping to defeat against Rubin Kazan in a one-sided Europa League encounter.

Cudicini denied Christian Noboa, Bebras Natcho and Aleksandr Ryazantsev before the break as Rubin poured forward.

But he could not stop Natcho's curling free-kick, conceded after Sebastien Bassong was caught in possession.

Spurs, who were without boss Harry Redknapp after his heart surgery, failed to create a clear-cut chance.

Redknapp is expected to be back in the dugout when Spurs play Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday but it was left to his assistant Kevin Bond to take a young team to Russia looking for the win that would put them through to the last 32.

In truth, Tottenham never really looked like taking all three points and this defeat means they face a battle to reach the knockout stages -with their next home game against PAOK Salonika on 30 November likely to prove decisive.

After a slow start, it was the home side who began to up the ante. Gokdeniz Karadeniz caused Spurs problems with his raids down the right and Alan Kasaev fired narrowly over from one of his pull-backs.

Another Karadeniz cross led to Cudicini's first save of the night, with the Spurs keeper making up for a weak punch by brilliantly pushing away Christian Noboa's snap-shot.

Two more top-class stops followed quickly afterwards, first from Natcho's rasping shot which was heading into the top corner, and then to deny Ryazantsev at his near post.

At the other end, Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko were struggling to get into the game and the one-way traffic continued when former Newcastle and Birmingham striker Obafemi Martins headed wide from Kasaev's clever cross.

Tottenham did have a sniff of goal when Defoe's drilled cross just eluded his strike partner at the far post but their best effort came early in the second half when Ryan Fredericks cut in from the right before firing into the side netting.

Rubin continued to come forward and got their reward when Bassong's poor control led to him fouling Ryazantsev and conceding a free-kick right on the edge of the area.

This time Cudicini was left helpless when Natcho stepped up to expertly curl the ball into the top corner.

That was the cue for further pressure from the Russian side and it took further Cudicini saves to keep the score down.

He pushed away Ryazantsev's shot and kept out a Karadeniz header before instinctively stopping Nelson Valdez's rasping effort.

Tottenham, who lost William Gallas to injury before the end, struggled to find any sort of response and did not register a single shot on target.

No idea Nic. I had the game on but due to other stuff going on around me I wasn't all that tuned into it. Didn't hear too many "Oh when the Spurs" chants to be honest . . . . .
