Match Thread Vs Fulham Empty fulham game

Post by Guest Wed May 09 2012, 12:28

I was floating about looking at fulham forums last night and the recon thus far is pretty scarce tbh, I couldn't find any threads of substance about the game against us on sunday. The major topic for conversation seemed to hinge on weather or not they would be keeping Clint Dempsey & where they are going on vacation this year.

Could that reflect the players attitude in some ways? More to the point could it also reflect Martin Jol's mindset at this present time?

A lot has been said about BMJ having an axe to grind with Spurs but Im beginning to question weather this is ignoring Mr Jol's laid back qualities & his realistic view of what went on back then.

Heres a quote or two to mull over

"I won't lie, I didn't feel great at that moment," Jol said of his dismissal. "But later on you go to another club. I was in Germany, and Hamburg have 55,000 season-ticket holders, not bloody 30,000, so that was a bigger club. I played in the semi-finals in Europe, and I played in the quarter-finals with Spurs, so it was even better. There's no looking back, no hard feelings. A couple of years ago Daniel [Levy, the Tottenham chairman] phoned me up as if nothing had happened, so that helped. He looked after me — and why not? I did well for him."

"When I left Spurs I said I was like Arnold Schwarzenegger – 'I'll be back'. And now I am back. It's got nothing to do with unfinished business," Jol said. "England is the football country in Europe, maybe in the world. That's the only reason why you want to come back. I love the English people. Maybe that is wrong because at the end at Spurs there were a few people who were not nice to me. I always loved it here, and not only in London. I was even in Walsall and loved it, and that is maybe not the best of places."

    ------
Also ..... is there a case in point that BMJ would rather see Arsenal usurped by Spurs on the last day..... after all it was Arsenal who benefited from lasagna-gate

Maybe I'm being a little nieve ...... or maybe I just want to believe that one of the most liked managers we have had at our club ...would prepare for this game with a secret desire to save the fans who loved him the agony of an upset?

By the way ....... Mr Jol, if you read this can you please rest a load of big players and give some of your fringe players a run out... especially any borderline injury cases. Not forgetting to come up with a cast iron alibi for doing so...... ive heard food poisoning is a useful one.

Oh the irony.... could you imagine it, Martin Jol fields a weak as fook team & we beat them ..... Wengers unwashed only manage a draw & he is going apeshit about Fulham fielding a weak side...... Newcastle win .. we go 3rd & then in the after match interview Martin Jol says..

"Yes it was very strange indeed, half my team came down with food poisoning & were unable to play...... its a massive shock and such a suprising coincidence..... pass on my apologies to Arsen"

Carlsberg dont do last day of the season ......... but if they did

I'm thinking, will the adulation & appreciation that will inevitably be shown by the Spurs faithful on Sunday towards Martin Jol, upset our Harry into showing yet more antipathy towards all things Spurs? Shocked

With the all the success Harry has had with Spurs, where is the Jol like love for him from the fans?

Harry, every other premeirship manager's friend, has never done this.

Poor sod looked absolutely crestfallen in that last Vid. He'll get a great reception when he steps out at the Lane on Sunday. Arry will be p*ssed off. As much as I love the big man I hope he doesn't spoil the party.

Vis .....I just cant see a 3-5-2 in this game unless we're losing and Newcastle are winning and even then I'm not sure our manager will go with that Idea ...

But I like the idea of playing three at the back , Hoddle style, because of the players we have in our squad ...
