The thing is though Nic. We have no say on who the manager is. We have to put up with whoever Levy gets in. We all knew what Arry was when he came so it doesn't mean we have to accept him with open arms. Yes he got us CL. So what? Doesn't mean he can flap his mouth whenever he feels a mike is within mouth flapping distance.

And I am sure there are plenty of dissenting voices on the Arsenal boards too, after years of plenty, 7 years without silverware, are you lot seriously happy with just about qualifying for the Champions league, even if it is every year for god knows how long, maybe thats Wengers parallel to Harrys
reality check remark?

I believe I have some sense of perspective that helps me enjoy supporting my team, the football, the excitement, even the occasional disaster
Rather than the incessant whingeing that others seem to get off on
Feel the joy feel the joy for we shall pass this way only once
As for Arry's big mouth Baz I am afraid it is part of his DNA - he is never hpong to change

Fact is Nic, you lot aint won anything for 7 seasons and dont look like you will do for some time yet, Podolski direct replacement for RVP? "I will always love Arsenal no matter what happens" draw your own conclusions.

Re: Match Thread Vs Fulham
Pay RvP £170-£180K a week ?
Would that guarantee a trophy ?
Well it hasn't over the past seven years so it seems a slightly dodgy approach to me
If RvP wants to leave that is entirely up to him - at his age he probably has one big move left in him and perhaps 2-3 seasons at the top left so if he does not go this Summer then his options will reduce - and while he might have had a good 15-16 months or so overall in his AFC career his contribution has been modest

Of course not, its down to the likes of Spurs and Arsenal to try and keep a lid on wages, dont even know if the the fair play that FIFA are introducing will make any difference.
Tell you what though, thank god he chose last season as the time to peak, as you lot would not even be looking at the Europa League without his goals.

Re: Match Thread Vs Fulham
However I have my reservations about the way we play with RvP as a single striker. We do not score, as a team, enough goals. We play at home, with a single striker against teams who should be put under greater pressure by a 442 443 approach
Podolski is part of the answer but he would actually have to play

The only season that counts is 2011-2012, heres the stats for that.

But they had Fabregas and Nasri then!!
Like I said, last season is the one that counts and i will say it again, without his goals Arsenal would not have made Europa League.

2010-2011
Van Persie scored 18 goals
Fabregas 3
Nasri 10
Bentner 2
thats 15 goals from players that were not present in 2011-2012 compared
to 18 from RVP.
Lought the league table is not based on when RVP is not playing, but on 38 games and for 2 seasons without RVP (even with Nasri and Fabregas) they would have not made CL.

but RVP still scored 18 goals!!
so your saying that if they played Chamakh, who ended up scoring 7 for that season, instead of RVP, he would have got more then 18?

Re: Match Thread Vs Fulham
The entirely predictable thing is among fans, players, managers, the meeja over the past few months is the agreement that RvP is , and always has been, such an outstanding striker
Do leave it out - in spite of many years at AFC he had never produced, been incessantly injured until this season , and any club seriously who thought he was good could have picked him up for £8-10 mill maximum in the Summer 2011 - probably half that Jan 11
Hindsight eh
Marvellous
