MATCH PREVIEW
After leaking 10 goals in their opening two games, Wigan look to stop the rot against a Tottenham side who put a dozen goals past the Latics last season, including a 9-1 win in this fixture.
We can't wait to get there and get rid of that feeling that we had last season
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez
Pressure is growing on Wigan manager Robert Martinez. Not since Manchester City in 1962 has a top-flight team conceded so many goals after two games.
To make matters worse, star man Charles N'Zogbia could be on his way to Birmingham, who have had a bid accepted for the winger.
The Latics did keep a clean sheet in Tuesday's League Cup win at Hartlepool but a trip to White Hart Lane is a far more daunting prospect.
Wednesday's win against Young Boys in a Champions League qualifier extended Tottenham's unbeaten home run to 17 games. European champions Inter Milan now lie in wait for Spurs in the group stages, along with Werder Bremen and FC Twente.
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
• Tottenham have won six of their 11 meetings with Wigan in league and cup, losing only once. That was a 1-0 defeat away to the Latics in the Premier League in January 2009.
• Wigan have never won at White Hart Lane.
