Carlo Cudicini will replace first-choice Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes, who injured his groin in midweek.

Striker Jermain Defoe, who hopes to avoid groin surgery, could play against Wigan, but midfielder Luka Modric is again ruled out.

Wigan youngster Victor Moses will be sidelined for at least two weeks after hurting his ankle on League Cup duty.

Steven Caldwell, who made his debut on Tuesday, should retain his place, but his brother Gary is still injured.

    MATCH PREVIEW
After leaking 10 goals in their opening two games, Wigan look to stop the rot against a Tottenham side who put a dozen goals past the Latics last season, including a 9-1 win in this fixture.

We can't wait to get there and get rid of that feeling that we had last season

    Wigan manager Roberto Martinez
Pressure is growing on Wigan manager Robert Martinez. Not since Manchester City in 1962 has a top-flight team conceded so many goals after two games.

To make matters worse, star man Charles N'Zogbia could be on his way to Birmingham, who have had a bid accepted for the winger.

The Latics did keep a clean sheet in Tuesday's League Cup win at Hartlepool but a trip to White Hart Lane is a far more daunting prospect.

Wednesday's win against Young Boys in a Champions League qualifier extended Tottenham's unbeaten home run to 17 games. European champions Inter Milan now lie in wait for Spurs in the group stages, along with Werder Bremen and FC Twente.

    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head

    • Tottenham have won six of their 11 meetings with Wigan in league and cup, losing only once. That was a 1-0 defeat away to the Latics in the Premier League in January 2009.

    • Wigan have never won at White Hart Lane.

    Tottenham

    • In-form Gareth Bale has scored or created all but one of Tottenham's eight league and cup goals this season. The Welshman is set to make his 50th Premier League appearance on Saturday.

    • Bale and Roman Pavlyuchenko are the club's top Premier League scorers in 2010 with five goals each, one more than Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch.

    • Spurs are unbeaten in their last 17 league and cup games at White Hart Lane. Their last home defeat was against Wolves on 12 December.

    Wigan

    • The Latics have lost their last six away league games. Their last win on the road was against Wolves on 16 January.

    • They are the only Premier League side yet to score this season.

    • Roberto Martinez's side conceded 79 times in 38 games last season. They conceded only 45 goals in the 2008/09 campaign under Steve Bruce.

    • Wigan's only win in their last nine league games was against Tottenham's north London neighbours Arsenal. They beat the Gunners 3-2 on 18 April.
