Well guys lets try matchday thread 2 lol ! ! ! To get things rolling I will say that 'arry's pre-match talk should be along the lines of - "You've just played the Champions League holders off the pitch, don't let your-selfs down today, go and do it to Bolton". Lought posted that the Reebok hasn't been the happiest of hunting grounds for us so time to change that and keep that push for a top place finish again this season . . . . .. .

Seems like Bolton didn't beat us until 1911. We then seemed to almost swap results until 1935 (we would win then Bolton, or draw kinda thing) and the stats look very even. We then don't play them until 1948 in the FA CUP & we win 2-0 at the old Burnden Park. We then play regularly thro' the Fifties and early sixties again swapping results. Last game is at The Lane in '64 ane we win 1-0. Then a break in hostilities until '77/'78 season and we play them 4 times in one season. Twice in old 2nd division and twice in FA Cup. We share home victories in league but they knock us out of Cup in replay at Burnden Park. We both gain promotion and we win 3 of the next 4 games until Bolton are relegated. There is then a break of 15 long years until we meet again. 2 years later Bolton are down again. We then wait until the new millenium. In 2001 Bolton record their best win against us , a 6-0 stuffing at the Reebok. The rest you can find in the earlier post lol. There we go peeps, a brief & concise history of Spurs/Bolton (both famous White shirt wearers) head to head games. We just shade it over the years but history points to a home win or draw . . . . . .

We've played Bolton 22 times in the premeirship picking up 30 points ...We've scored 30 to their 29
8 wins each and 6 draws ..We've scored 30 to their 29 ,,,,so its near even as it can get.. Be good to get ahead ....

Vis and Lought have pointed out , we've not won at the Reebok in the prem so it's about time that was rectified ..

They do have players that can score against us but Im more worried about the physical approach by one or two of their players namely Robinson and Muamba so im hoping for a narrow win and a clean bill of health....

Tottenham Hotspur visit Bolton Wanderers (one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in 1888-89) in the early kick-off in the 11th round of Premier League matches on Saturday.

This will be the 101st time the two teams have met.

The first meeting came at Northumberland Park in April 1898 when Spurs were playing in the Southern League in a friendly which was drawn 2-2. A further friendly was played at the same venue in November 1899 which Spurs won 4-0.

The clubs first met in Football League action during Tottenham's first season in the competition with Spurs winning both matches 2-1 at home and 1-0 away during 1908-09.

Both clubs were promoted to the First Division the next season and Spurs drew 1-1 at White Hart Lane and won 2-0 at Burnden Park.

The first FA Cup meeting came in the 2nd round (today's 4th round) in season 1924-25 with Bolton earning a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane but losing their home replay 1-0.

Bolton had the best of the first Football League Cup meeting between the clubs, winning 6-1 at home in the 4th round in November 1996.

Spurs got a 1-1 away draw in the first Premier League meeting in September 1997 and followed this with a 3-2 away win in March 1996.

Last season, Spurs took four points out of six off Bolton with a 2-2 away draw at the Reebok and a 1-0 win at the Lane.

The teams were also drawn together in the 5th round of the FA Cup with Spurs drawing 1-1 away and finishing the job 4-0 at the Lane, which included two Bolton own goals.

Honours are even during the Premier League Era with 8 wins apiece and 6 draws from the 22 matches played so far.

Overall, Spurs have the edge over Bolton with 44 wins to 36 with 20 matches out of the 100 played so far drawn.

Currently, Spurs are 5th in the Premier League on 15 points and come to the match fresh from a fantastic 3-1 UEFA Champions League win over European & Italian Champions Inter Milan.

Bolton are 11th in the Premier League on 12 points.
