A little trip to the Emerald Isle and one of the most over-rated cities in Europe to score at least 7 and hope another team lose's ? Who thinks Redknapp will play a strong team lol ? Could this be Shamrocks 1st win in the group ? Or will the so-called 2nd string do us supporters all proud ? Whichever way it goes it's a game to be enjoyed for the club to get over Chris Foy and move forwards to the next run of sucsessive Premier League wins. YIDDO'S . . . . .

    gomez
    walker kaboul charlie ekotto
    lennon sandro kranker pinnar
    gio pav

i heard kranker is back in the sqaud.

    Shamrock Rovers v Tottenham

Match Thread Vs Shamrock Rovers _57329221_127569008
Giovani dos Santos was one of Spurs' goalscorers against Shamrock in September

Tottenham head into their final Europa League Group A game against Shamrock knowing even a victory may not be enough to secure their qualification.

Spurs are third in the group and need a win combined with a PAOK victory over Rubin Kazan and a five-goal swing in goal difference to reach the last 32.

Shamrock are bottom of the group with no points and no hope of qualifying.

However, they will be looking for a positive result in boss Michael O'Neill's final game in charge.

The 42-year-old, who has guided Rovers to two League of Ireland titles since arriving in 2009, announced he would be quitting the club on Monday following a failure to agree terms on a new contract.

He and his assistant Jim Magilton are among the candidates who will be interviewed for the Northern Ireland manager's job this week.

In the previous match between the two at White Hart Lane, Tottenham ran out 3-1 winners, after having to come from a goal down.

Spurs midfielder Danny Rose played in that match and is looking for another victory, despite knowing this may not be enough to qualify.

"We always go out to win every game and Thursday night will be no different," the England Under-21 international told the club's official website. "Whatever team steps out, we will want to win that game.

"We started poorly against PAOK [in their previous group match] in the first 20 minutes and we paid for it by going 2-0 down. We were camped in their half in the second half but couldn't turn it around.

"With the defeat at Stoke on Sunday, we're all determined to put things right and Thursday is the first chance to do that".

Seems to me there are some perfectly decent sides in it, Lazio, PSG, Schalke as well as others dropping out of the Cl to join in, Valencia, Marseilles, Porto and Ajax as well as the Manchester pair - against that quality of opposition any team that wins it have to be bloody good

And don't forget Stoke of course cyclops

The giant, disembodied, head of Ray Winstone has told me to dream the dream. Took awhile to get a grip on the game but we have now and Shamrock look like they suffering from shell shock. PAOK winning & Rubin down to 10. COYS . . . . . . .

An odd game, at half time Spuds lookedc to be cruising to a margin of winning goals that would have at least given the platform for qualification if the PAOK game stayed as it was. Arry animated, players buzzing, Kazan losing and down to 10 men

And then the second half started - lukewarm effort, I would be interested to hear from all the refereeing experts on here about Livermore's bit of luck not just to avoid a penalty but to stay on the pitch- and then Defoe was withdrawn ?

I thought it a nailed on sending off for Livermore.
However in one of your earlier pieces you alluded to refs watching out for Modric, the lad that Livermore collided with was falling over all the first half and most of the second before the incident, maybe he thought here we go again and you never get a middle ground with lino's, they either hide behind the refs to make decisions or want to be the star of the show.

and then Defoe was withdrawn ?

It could just be my cynical nature Nic. But maybe Arry thought he might score more goals affraid
